The bird adored his cage of pure gold,
Cherished it more than a bit
One day the cage was taken and sold,
So he flew off to find it
First he glissaded through Africa,
Boldly surveying its plains
From Cape of Good Hope to Sahara,
Sirocco, deep in his veins
Next he fluttered on up to Europe,
Meeting long-lost brothers
They routed the Alps in a chirrup,
Mistral, one with others
Subsequently he swooped to Asia,
Smiling at the sun above
Met a beautiful bird named Ava,
Zephyr, they fell in love
It was then he awoke from the dream,
Still perched in his revered cage
But he no longer sensed its old gleam,
Only loss he could not gauge
The bird tweeted in grief and sadness,
Seeing his entire journey
Was naught but a moment of madness,
Reality was this gurney
Quieting down, he peered at the sky,
Revealing where his soul walked
And as he heard Ava’s soothing cry,
His cage door, gently, unlocked
Freya's Kingdom
