The Captain

Picture
In tumultuous spray,
Under twinkling sun,
 O'er seas ruled by none,
Sailed the captain one day
Commander of one

He wasted years drifting,
Chased lines in a chart,
'Till at last did start,
A plan much more lifting
To follow his heart

Maelstroms spent their rage,
Delivered all force,
Assaulted his course,
Still the fates could not cage
This man with remorse

'Twas mere luck, many claim,
Who cast a life known,
Yet softly bemoan,
And lament the lost flame
 Heart's dreams never sown
Those Few Brief Minutes
Sierras
