Kane's Demons

Picture
Gives me no pleasure, the story ahead
Just to recount it, fills me with cold dread
When a man named Kane, and his mighty sword
Engaged in battle, with a demon hoard

Kane knew no evil, his weapon hidden
'Till came the demons, seemingly bidden
Initially mocked him, but kept their distance
Unsheathing his blade, met no resistance

Kane wandered for years, trained well in the sword
Yet as he improved, more enemies roared
They became bolder, greedy arms reaching
Raking with sharp claws, bloody maws screeching

Kane just fought harder, he would not relent
The demons pressed him, murderous intent
Even when wounded, he would not divert
Knew he must fight on, no matter how hurt

Kane took the conflict, to the next level
He wished to kill all, in one last revel
Though bleeding badly, bitten everywhere
Attacked the monsters, deep in their own lair

Kane felt he might win, last burst of fury
Until the kill stroke, removed all worry
Dying he saw now, illusions banished
In dropping his sword, Kane's demons vanished
