Begun

Far side of an endless sea
Shone a young girl smile bright
Through the years she patiently
Held to one wish every night
Made a promise pure and plain
To espy love beyond pain
 
Seeing this a knight of tact
Swore an oath to catch her dream
Unfortunately he lacked
Virtue true to match the gleam
He betrayed the girl and fled
Happy ending burned and dead
 
With this loss of hope revered
She withdrew into her shell
'Till a blessed thought appeared
Whispered thaw in frigid hell
Not to lead with feelings new
To think first then follow through
 
Guided by this newfound grace
The young woman searched again
Slave no longer to the chase
Freed from the shackles of when
Patiently she tossed her line
Waited for the sun to shine
 
Far side of an endless earth
Came a man who heard her call
Pursued chosen fate since birth
Held the line he did not fall
Two hearts merging become one
One love's journey thus begun
